14 Years Old To Sail Yacht Around The World
Laura Dekler is a 14 year old from Holland with the dream to become the youngest person to sail solo around the world. Although her parents have approved her proposed adventures, child protection authorities have been fighting to prevent her from taking this voyage. They fear that she is much too young to spend two years at sea on her own and that the voyage will take her through dangerous waters. A judge ruled today that the decision of whether Laura can or cannot take this yacht trip rests with her parents. She is expected to set sail on her 27 feet yacht named guppy in two weeks.
