Older Home in Need of Insulation to Reduce Heating Bills
After buying an older home that was in need of repair, my wife and I discovered the house was not insulated. Unfortunately the discovery was made when we received our first heating bill of the winter. The amount was astronomical and we decided right then it would cost less to insulate the house than continue paying ridiculously high utility bills. We planned on doing most of the renovations ourselves but thought it best to hire a professional to do the insulating. After comparing the cost and efficiency of fiberglass insulation with spray foam insulation, we chose the spray foam. We were very pleased with the company who did the insulating. They arrived promptly, completed the job in a timely manner, and the cost was very close to the estimate we were given. The next month’s heating bill was dramatically lower and our house much warmer than before.
