The Importance of Ankle anatomy to Health Professionals
A very important study for everyone especially to health professionals that deals the treatment of the foot and ankle is the Ankle anatomy, through this they can determine the normal and the abnormal findings or function of the ankle. Then they can start making a diagnosis and then they can start treating ankle problems. Anatomically the talus bone is the center of the ankle, which sits on top of the calcaneus (heel bone) – the joint between them is called the subtalar joint. About the talus is the tibia or shin or leg bone. The tibia is also that bone that the sticks out on the inside of the ankle joint. On the outside of the ankle joint is the fibula. Together the talus, tibia and fibula make up the talocrural joint.
