The Heel pain in gout
The big toe joint of the foot is commonly affected with gout. Then it will be easy to diagnose when it happens in this joint. This gout is due to the crystals that were being deposited into joints that causes inflammatory reaction to these crystals that causes the pain. These crystals can be deposited in any joint, not just the big toe joint. When it affects other joints, the diagnosis is not so obvious and may take some time before a final diagnosis is made. Heel pain in gout is also common as the uric acid crystals can deposit in the heel region. Almost always the diagnosis is made after a number of other initial diagnoses are made.
