Far from Furious, and Far From Anywhere. I’ve visited Ari at Monticello; it’s a beautiful track, but it is, unfortunately, in the middle of nowhere. There are other issues with the track. One is that they used an old airfield for this track (for zoning reasons), which means there is no vertical elevation change along the track, which makes the course somewhat boring. And the Cadillac cars are simply ridiculous — as if American car manufacturers have anything serious to offer compared to the likes of the Europeans. IMHO, Ari has cheapened (whored would be a better word) his offering by partnering with Cadillac. It’s simply not a suitable race car. I’ve taken several of the courses at the Porsche Sports Driving School in Leeds, AL, as well as the Ferrari course in Mount Tremblant, CA. The Porsche courses are by far the most amazing driving experience I’ve ever had. The Ferrari course was just an weak imitation. The PSDE was an amazing track with amazing cars, and an equally amazing staff. WSJ should have written an article on it instead.

You are really assuming a lot. Do you think one flies an enormous craft like the one in question by ‘feel,’ like a guy listening to the engine of his old Chevy going down a country road?

I don’t think nearly enough has been released to determine if the pilots were at fault for anything at all. If anything I would be very, very wary of all the information released. Hundreds of billions of dollars are at stake. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means but it’s simply naive to think that there won’t be many interested parties trying to control the way this is spun.

The Wall Street Journal did a piece on that stat travel and vacation found over 55% of the households who did not pay income taxes were elderly Americans on Social Security.

A majority of the rest were young people who made under $20,000.00 a year.

Doesn’t sound like a very lucrative sponge to squeeze to me. Maybe all those elderly people, many of whom fought in Vietnam and WWII should stop being so greedy, so that Billionaire Officers of AIG like this guy can pay less taxes and spend more money on vacation homes and private jets.
